How controversial is it to kiss your child on the lips?

Depends what age you are.
I remember both my mom and dad kissed me on the lips until I was around 7 years old.
So yeah there is nothing weird with that, it is just a normal dry kiss...

My Wife does this with our children, it's perfectly normal.

I was raised a bit differently, so depending on the angle, I usually kiss our kids on their cheek, forehead or the top of their head.

I give my daughter a kiss on the lips nightly at bedtime. its not creepy unless YOU make it creepy. you seem to just be butthurt nobody wants to kiss you.

Eh, I kiss my 1 years olds on the lips and my 5 year old, obviously not the 13 year old.

I do however not kiss them like I kiss my gf whatsoever, it's not any different then a cheek kiss tbh.

I can only assume that the people see's anything sexual in it, is fighting their inner pedophile.

I don't think so, unless Freud had a seriously delayed effect. Looking back at my childhood in the 90's and then at today in Europe this is something that imho happened within the last 10-20 years.
