    New Graphics Card ~£100

So, I was just told to play Blade & Soul with my friends, and only ~5 minutes in, my Radeon 7770 decides to pack in, and just die. Yay!

So now, I have to find a new Graphics Card to replace it, and I need one within the ~£100 range. Anyone have any recommendations for a good quality graphics card that'll work on my Asus Motherboard?

I understand that spending a little more money can maybe net me a bigger increase, but ideally I want something that can allow me to keep playing WoW, but also some newer games such as Overwatch. I play on 1980 x 1080, and would prefer to run on High settings as a minimum.

    Thanks

(If you need more information, please let me know. Not amazing with this whole thing, and right now pretty pissed off)

the cheapest GPU i would consider buying currently would be the RX480, but that's quite a bit more than what you want to spend. Without knowing the country you are in though, it's a little hard to know how far ~£100 will get you. Maybe a GTX 950 fits in that budget?

From the UK, hence the £

This is what I am looking at (The 950 you mentioned). I don't mind going over £100, as long as it's not suddenly £384 and not that much more powerful for example.

Edit: Not 100% sure if this'll be usable on my Motherboard. https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8...pecifications/

Thanks for that. I might just get the 950 then. Still going to look around, unless anyone else can recommend a better / decent graphics card.

    450W PSU (10 Chars)

Would you recommend a new PSU if I get the 950?

    1 x PCIe 2.0 x16
    No compatibility problem there.
That your PSU if the card has additional power requirements, and the size of your case.
Those are the limiting issues beyond budget that I see.

The Nvidia 750ti is an option nearer your budget, but the 950 is a good improvement over that if you can stretch it.

If your power supply has a 6-pin cable or a 6+2 cable for providing extra power to the PSU, then it should support either.
The 750ti should in most cases not be requiring that, but the 950 will.
    Likely the PSU has that.

But if the PSU is cheap, then I would advise a new one.
I have had one fail so far, prompting a replacement at short notice.

Just ordered the GTX 750 TI. (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

It'll be fine on my current PSU and is quite cheap. Thanks everyone for the help and support. Cheers.

To support overclocking, that appears to have a requirement for the extra 6-pin connector.
I would still consider a PSU replacement in the future, to be on the safe side.
Though other people are better equipped to recommend specifics as my experience is limited to one replacement due to a failure.

Not sure I follow. My old one had a 6-Pin Connector, and it already attached to the PSU (of course). Are you suggesting I might need to attach another one? A quick check shows I have two (including the one originally used for the now dead Graphics Card) 6-Pin Connectors spare to use.

Based on the above, do you think it would be wise to get a new PSU now, or can it wait? The best choice I have is; https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CP-...4JPA4J3AG964DT

What I meant is that the 750ti in most cases uses upto 75w, and therefore can be powered entirely by the slot on the motherboard.
In the case of that model, it has an extra requirement for that same cable you are using already to provide power above that amount, to give I would expect a greater overhead when it comes to overclocking.
It is using that same 6-pin cable as you are already, I did not mean to confuse you.

Other people can advise better on specific PSU models.
Replacement is I suppose just good practice.

Oh, that's where I got confused. I thought you were saying I was going to have to get an ADDITIONAL 6-Pin connector, to make it have 2-power cables. That's what got me. Thanks again.
