There is nothing in the Republican platform that says anything about implementing a police state. The fact that they are calling for the end of violence against police is completely understandable and justified. If you think that it is perfectly acceptable for average citizens to kill innocent police officers in the name of terribly biased “journalism” and the democratic agenda, then you’re an anarchist and deserve anarchy. The fact that this article is claiming the republican platform is to implement a police state and start World War 3 is evidence enough of its lack of credibility. As an American, I support everything about the republican platform. When the US decided to lead from behind, we opened the door for RADICAL ISLAMIC TERRORISTS to gain control in vast areas of the Middle East. Yes, I’m in favor of a strong America. I think it’s about fucking time that we get back to where we were as the strongest economic superpower in the world. If that means pissing in a few people’s cornflakes, or ruffling the feathers of some beautiful and unique snowflakes who choose to identify as something different every week, or forcing able bodied people to work for their share vs getting a handout, then so fucking be it. The problem for you is people on the Left have been saying X, Y, and Z is Fascism since the end of WW2. Everyone has been described as Fascist to the point that that word has zero meaning. Bush was called a Fascist, Reagan too, everyone is Hitler!? Now nobody is Hitler.

After about 60+ years of EVERYTHING to the right Jill Stein being called Fascist, I am surprised the Right has only just now got around to trying it themselves. It took them till 2008? Slow going man.

Also, they're not even remotely comparable levels of nuts. Hardcore liberals (which Democrats are not) can certainly be nuts. But Democrats are what Republicans used to be (with a few progressive policies thrown into the mix). Republicans (at least the party leaders) no longer even attempt to sound sane.

About the only part of this that I know about from other threads is the attempt to institute a theocracy, which is oddly enough the only part you didn't cram into your title, yet the one I'm most concerned about. "Allowing discrimination for religious beliefs" is essentially allowing all discrimination, because anyone can invent a religion about anything, there's no limit. The only way there would be one is if they admitted to what they're actually trying to do: a christian theocracy. I don't see any of them advocating teaching the Qur'an in schools.

If you ever doubt that people can invent a religious practice then claim special treatment successfully, google "flying spaghetti monster driver's license."

The problem is that fascism on its own is not anymore evil than any other political theory. The issue with fascism, is that at this point and most likely for ever, it is tied to Hitler. No one cares that fascism isn't unique to Germany or that there are similarities in many other forms of government, including our own. At this point, I feel like any legitimate claim to anyone sharing views with fascism, to be removed from association with Hitler, is to rename it. How about we call it Pony Power, to make it sound as benign as possible, while still being able to compare policy proposals?
