However you can make a case that it is becoming less Swedish as years go by. And no, by that I don't mean ''less white'' or anything like that.

That you are having an increasing population in the Sweden that prefers to live in secluded clusters, with their backs turned agains the majority of the country or other minorities for that matter. Just knowing the language is not ''integration'' or ''becoming Swedish'' in any meaningful way.
Be it Muslims or Poles, no difference. That's the state of affairs in Sweden.

Seems abit degrading to the immigrants imo, it's not like they cant find some friends by themselves. And hanging out with someone that gets paid to hang out with you? nothing i would like but if they make some real friend i guess it works.

It's not a bad idea but I dislike that the onus is being put on the natives to make the first steps, as opposed to immigrants - after all, it's in their immediate interests to blend in and hopefully find a job.

There is something odd about it that I can't put my finger on. When I lived in Poland and Russia, I did my best and invested quite a lot of time and money to be less ''different'' and I must say, I'm quite proud that I did that. And the people appreciated it.
It does take a certain amount of courage but really, I was the immigrant and I saw it as my duty to my hosts.

I absolutely agree with you, this is how it should be. But since we know they are there already, and that it doesn't work the perfect way every time, it seems like a decent effort to at least give a chance for the natives to like the immigrants, and for the immigrants to leave their own community.

Integration always is a two-way street, I mean how the host country (especially on an individual level) treats it's arrivals does play a role. And I think refugees are entering a new society under a very different context compared to an immigrant.

What I don't get is why the hell the immigrants should get any "compensation" for this as if they are sacrificing something. Some get money and some get tickets as "compensation". Why?
