I hope the RNG from the current BG win boxes isn't a preview of whats to come at 110

Out of 20 of the fel-touched crates from BG wins, I had a total of 6 different pieces of gear - 14 were repeats. I really hope it's because they don't have the "bad luck protection" or whatever enabled yet, because if this is what it's going to be like at 110, it's going to be pretty awful :\

Just means this isn't the only avenue you will need to participate in to get gear. on a good battlegroup it will probably take less than a week to gear up which is a hell of a lot faster than it was before

This is exactly what is coming. In fact, unless you are doing rated at very high rankings, grinding PvE gear will be better than grinding PvP gear.

Unfortunately that's how gear is going to be obtained in Legion. There's no backup system to allow you to purchase missing items. It's the Conquest Trinket issue extended to every slot. The only upside is that the actual items you get don't matter, only their ilvl matters. However I'd much rather they have removed gear as a factor entirely instead of a 0.1% stat increase per 1 overall ilvl increase. That would at least somewhat justify the grind nature of the Legion RNG box system.

First point : 20 wins for 6 pieces of gear is an improvement over previous system.
Second point : gear is pretty much irrelevant for PVP. Only ilvl count. No reason for PVP to have an easier way to "high" ilvl than PVE.

I thought Blizzard made it so you have a low chance of getting an item more than once? Guess we'll still be getting tons of repeats.

You aren't getting legion loot right now.

On live, it's 690 greens, with a chance to be a blue 700 item. They also removed rings, necklaces and trinkets from the vendors.

    This.

    PVP progression is dead.

I don't mind this new method, unlike the old, was getting tired of getting 10-30 gold.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..

There, I fixed it for you. By far one of the main reasons I am not getting anywhere near Legion for now.

Considering how small the stat increase is from items you'll probably be fine in quest gear for the most part. The gains feel almost nonexistant.

Bullshit, it is just not tied to gear. You progress in Honor/Rank, you progress in Honor Talents, you progress your Artifact Weapon...

Uncoupling PVP from gear was the best decision in the history of PVP in WoW.

Pretty sure there was a blue post stating that the boxes were just for pre-110 and pre-patch. At 110 you will get honor just like before.

Edit: You people need to learn how to read, it is on the front page of mmo, one of the blue tracker posts.

Agreed. I am staying away from this skinner box cancer as well.

    I don't consider a skinner box progression.

There is no progression for the vast majority of PVP players in PVP. Enjoy the dead queues.

    This is wrong.

You obtain boxes + honor in randoms at 110.

I don't believe they mean honor as we know it now. They refer to the experience towards leveling honor talents as honor.

I don't like the changes, but I'll be ok with them if the gear can stand up to PvE gear. Personally, I don't earn PvP gear to do better in structured PvP. I want to be able to use the gear out in the world. I feel like that's the biggest point not being talked about. Once the battleground is over I'm placed back into the world where I need that gear to quest and defend myself from other players. Raiding shouldn't be the only way to obtain decent gear.

I have discussed this many times and the gear earned from PVP doesn't have set bonuses so when you are out in the world and questing it is inferior to the order halls gear (which has set bonuses) and PVE gear earned from heroics or LFR (which also has set bonuses).

They have gone back to the WotLK failed PVP model where PVE gear is the best at everything once more. PVE gear will also have a better chance of being a higher ilevel which does scale in instanced PVP with the templates.

If there is a currency then you will be able to choose what you want to buy.

Also, I think going back to making wpvp a free for all in regards to gear a good thing, it is one less thing to waste time on balancing. Rated pvp will still be all equal and the casual stuff will be casual.
