Big news for medical cannabis users in Canada as Health Canada unveils its newest set of regulations on the two year anniversary of Robin Williams suicide.
Basically, the short and curly version; they have added personal and designated cannabis grow options to the Marihuana for Medical Purpose Regulations (MMPR) and renamed it the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations (ACMPR). These new regulations take effect on August 24th 2016 and will require those wanting to grow to submit paperwork for a certificate (note they didnt call it a license this time), which will allow the applicant to grow their own (or have grown for them) cannabis. The current proposed formula for deciding the amount of plants the person will be able to grow is 5 indoor plants or 3 outdoor plants for every 1gram of prescribed dried cannabis per day.
