You mean the solar system - and I don't see how that contradicts anything I said.
Water makes it more likely to find life (we think) - but I was discussing how that would allows us to select among the alternatives above.

There are also suggestions that Mars may have had water previously, that's why they are considered the most likely candidates.

That is only true if you believe science has a solid understanding of how the universe works currently. You do realize how bad it is right now for them, right? The next 20 years is going to be very interesting.

How bad what is for who? What are you talking about? Why are you on the internet without supervision again?

    Sigh...

Our entire theory of how the universe is structured is based on something we cannot find or see, everything falls apart without it. (talking about dark matter if that was not painfully obvious).

People are now seriously considering multiple universes as an alternative, that is how bad it has gotten.

Science being open to new theories is a bad thing? Well ofcourse it is looking at your posts.

It is a bad thing when something that is far simpler makes more sense. Do you guys realize how many well regarded scientists are finally starting to accept we had a creator? The evidence is pointing towards it.

That has absolutely no bearing on whether or not there is a creator, nor really the state of science, which is perfectly fine with people theorising possibilities.

Even if they find out that everything they know about the universe is incorrect, that advances the probability of a creator by 0%. Science failing =/= creationist arguments succeeding. Creationist arguments stand or fall on their own merits and so far they have shown no merit.

No evidence points toward it, you just made that up.

An invisible omnipotent superbeing is not a simple answer. Holy fuck.

Plenty of things point to a creator, are you not familiar with the cosmic microwave background and the work max tegmark did at MIT? Not to mention the mere fact we have never actually proved the earth has moved.....which btw those experiements were using the exact same instruments that "proved" the existence of the recently discovered gravitational waves ...lol.

No, but that I can categorically state that does not provide evidence of a creator, mainly because the current evidence of a creator is nothing. We have none. Zilch. Zip. Nada. Tipote.

Science isn't a popular vote on twitter either.

This should say solar system not galaxy.

Maybe you should just look a bit my man, whats the harm? A variety of missions have been performed starting in the mid 80's, and they all have surprisingly shown the same data....that the earth somehow has a special place in the cosmos (as opposed to the copernican principle that everything should be random).

Discovery is what got humanity out of the caves to the point we are at today. Besides, your "simple" answer is not that simple as you think it is, otherwise we would not have so many different religions with different interpretations.

Also, what the heck is wrong with actually wanting to study the universe, and making scientific theories based on said observations? If a god did create the universe, then having science find some sort of evidence to support such a claim would be to your benefit, no? Or are your beliefs so fragile that you can't handle the conclusions that these scientists reach just because they don't perfectly align with your own faith?

It is a special place to us, that is about it as far as we are aware.

No. You're the one talking about a "creator" here. The fact that we haven't discovered life outside of our planet has absolutely nothing to do with there being a "creator", and is in no way any kind of "proof" of there being one, or even indication or a of there being one or a suggestion that there is one. There is no onus on science to disprove a made up story.

Also, please don't derail a scientific thread with your religion. You'll just end up having a scientific thread, that has absolutely nothing to do with religion, locked.

When you make these things up does it take some time to think of them or do they just pop out of nowhere?

Maybe that's his goal? He can't handle science, better to just censor it.
