How viable is to do Mythic+ without raiding?

viable to what? if you aint raiding, why would you need more than dungeons gives you?

or your question may be "Can i raid without raiding?" (?)

I guess you're just misunderstanding a bit, the chests from end of dungeon runs are not the same as the weekly chest in your class order hall.

There are, but there are very few, so chances those are good is pretty small while dungeons have pretty much all of them.

you wouldnt be askin this if you were at mythic raiding gearing. and not only obvius, they stated in blue post that harder content will reweard better gear.
