    Pc upgrade for wow

    My build
Intel Core i5-3570 3.40GHz (Ivy Bridge) Socket LGA1155
ARIAnet Radeon HD 7850 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card
    8GB (2x4GB) Corsair Vengeance Jet Black 1600MHz CL9 DDR3
    MSI B75MA-P45 Intel B75 Socket 1155 DDR3 PCI-Express Motherboard

This is my current build which i bought 3 years ago but wow is not running good anymore for me so i think is time for upgrade.
Is it worth upgrading or i will have to buy completely new pc ?
I was thinking to get the new nvidia 1080 and see if its going to be better. Am i able to replace my cpu with i7 w/o changing my motherboard.

    Thanks

my first thought is get a better gpu... but a 1080 is overkill (if you are gaming in 1080p).
i think a 970/980 is good for wow.

Don't get 9xx series anymore go for a 10xx series from Nvidia or RX 4xx from Radeon.

An I7 will not do much for you other then maybe a small clock speed boost, the extra threads are wasted for wow and your mobo does not allow overclocking.

100% it will be from the 10xx series.
Would that be enought to let me run wow again at ultra?

I have a 1060 and can run WoW on ultra most places. In the cities it drops to 30-40 FPS, so I have to pull down my view distance and AA.

    - but you definitely want a 10xx over a 9xx or AMD (IMO). Price Per Performance (Value) is better.

You can pick up a 970 for around £140-£160 second hand, or a 1060 for around £250 new.

You can and it's not but some people will explode because you're not pairing it with an overclocked 6700k or something because it's new NEW NEWWWWWW.

In America you can get a brand new 1060 for less than $200 that is faster than a used / refurbished 970 that will cost over $200.

    Also - new GTX 1060 - £190
