is there tho? i'd doubt elissande or high botanist have high enough hitboxes for me to get 6 for example

Large hitboxes the boots are great, small they arent.

SS is to the edge of hitbox, boots calculate to center.

Something i've been meaning to ask for awhile now. When simming for ST, it's fairly easy to know what settings i should have...1 enemy, patchwerk. But what do you guys put in your global options for cleave/aoe fights? What i've been doing is number of enemies = 4, and sometimes Helter Skelter, sometimes Heavy Add Cleave.

I don't know if that comes anywhere close to how the fights actually are, or if the number of adds i set is to high/low. Specifically, i'm aiming to sim somewhat close to NH fights, not like massive aoe in M+ or something.

I thought aswell, but after testing it myself, it still exists.
Also, do not hesitate to follow #theorycrafting channel on Discord, I post updated informations when I got them. (Yesterday was double dipping of AP on T19 Assa)

Nope. You can see yourself https://github.com/simulationcraft/s...its/legion-dev
Last change was 1st of febuary, KB nerf/fix was included

It is despite what you think, it was added to the Assassination Aura (so no special modification of the rogue module needed), only a spell data pull that Collision did.

Yo I've been wondering this for a while,

IS Warcraft logs a good judge of DPS performance/ potential? I mean if less people are playing a certain spec then wouldn't that spec's numbers be lower no matter DPS output? I'm not that knowledgeable about this stuff.

For Example, IF if Fire is higher than Frost, does that mean fire actually does more DPS than frost? (has better numbers atm due to the good graces of blizz) Or is it b/c more people play Fire so it's skewed in fire's favor. IS that the case?

Raid leaders often check the logs to determine what DPS you should be doing. But it doesn't seem to take into account everything else. But i'm an idiot so idk.

Warcraft Logs is not a judge, its a tool. We are judges, and honestly, often poor ones.

    TL;WR: jump to italic

There are many things that come to play if you want to work with stats. For this game its primarily encounter design, encounter duration, spec rng and player skill. If you want to know just brute force possibilities, you usually take out encounter design right away (that is both right and wrong, will come to this later).

As for encounter duration its pretty easy, specs with big cds are at an advantage on shorter fights. DPS distribution comes into play, if you have sustained damage, you will not shine on short fight. Anything below 3 mins should be considered as a joke, extreme example to this is entire HFC, where farm was dominated by specs almost unusable on progress.

Spec rng is closely tied to previous point, as it has strong synergy with it. Can you get lucky and suddenly do 50% more DPS? Or are you flat and boring spec? Again think Doom nova, Soul capacitor, Blood of the Assassinated, Poison Bomb... If your class has strong rng, your current Krosus maximum can deviate from average by good 150k, if not, it means you can easily reach 95%+ of your spec output each pull. This factor is also MUCH more impactful on shorter fights.

Player skills impact is honestly almost gone nowadays, because with legendaries and all this bs around, you cant really say anything, but when posting 75 percentiles, it should be taken into consideration. Again same stuff, if spec is harder to master, it will have wider spread. Its also the reason why I laugh everytime I see 75 percentile linked - you should never care about average players performance, instead, you should check whats possible and at the same time be aware of your possibilities.

So now, each time you come across WCL statistic, you gotta check the following:
-are those long enough parses? this game is never tuned around short fights
-can I compare these parses? selecting and ignoring clear outliers (chinese logs with 50k dps more than rank 2...) - basically pick median from top 5-20 (depending on spec rng). You can do this easily with selecting 95 or 99 percentile if spec is represented enough.
-speaking of representation and your first question, unless you really want to be the dumbass linking 75 percentile, you dont need 1000 players. You just need to do some manual research and inspect those rankings yourself: are those players in good guilds? do they have proper legendaries? do they have artifacts? isnt this a gimmick log? encounter duration? good encounter? From my experience 5-10 good parses are enough to tell the specs power roughly.

There was this silly excuse post from someone about this exact issue, that they cant tell specs power if players dont play it. Well no shit, if noone plays it, you certainly cant tell anything, but quick glance at frost logs (your example), I can tell the spec is doing really good and could even use some hammering. So if some statistic is showing fire higher, its probably not good.

-you actually need to play the game to be a good judge. Its not possible to take mythic percentiles and go screaming around on forums without killing those bosses. Because of what I eliminated in the beginning - encounter design. There are less and more important parts of mythic progression, tier can be single target heavy, can be full of switches, can be bursty or favoring ranged or movement. This will simply fuck up everything you know from the numbers and to make it even worse, usually depends on subjective needs of every team. You may feel your class is shit but it can simply be not good at what your guild is missing.

Do I understand correctly that there's no way to sim Choker of Barbed Reins proc for rogues?

Tried to select Tank Dummy and TMI Standard Boss in options instead of Fluffy Pillow - still wouldn't show the proc name in the damage breakdown, plus seems like it's not simming properly at all when Tank Dummy is selected.
