Build for 1080 GTX GPU ?

Build for 1080 GTX GPU ?

Recently bought 1080 GTX Founder Edition for 510 GBP so now need rest of stuff as I sold my last desktop pc around 3 years ago when I went with laptop gaming.

I've been looking at some of CPUs and how to they improve performance for games. A lot of people say i5 is all you need with gaming but I've noticed that some games does benefit a lot with good CPU i7 . I was looking at i7 6700k and 6800k , both were clocked at 4.5ghz and tested and i7 six core was helping games much more than quad. Since I also found website where they sell components around 100 GBP less than other popular shops, I might use credit card in case they are scammers. Also looking wether RAM with 2133 power will lose much out vs 3000 power DDR4 rams? My goal is to build fairly small and quiet setup. mini itx maybe?

    Intel i7-6700k

    ASUS Z170-A

    HyperX FURY Black 16GB

This is pretty much the best bang for your buck right now. i5-6600k is a good alternative CPU also.

Ummm, where were you looking at this? I am genuinely curious. I have looked here:

And while, yeah, there is a difference, it's not a lot. Definitely not worth the huge price increase.

So yeah, it shows an increase in synthetic benchmarks, utilizing parts of the CPU games don't really use. Looking at the actual FPS in games and there is a 2-3 difference in FPS. The CPU is about $100 more expensive though. I guess if a gain of 2-5 FPS is worth $100 to you go for it.

Nope, not going to make huge difference in game performance. Can affect how much you can OC your CPU though. Again though, an OC on the CPU won;t help most games outside of WoW. May be able to push an extra .1 -.2 GHz with just the right RAM, but that's only going to net you a 1-2% increase in performance in WoW and nothing at all elsewhere.

Why do you need a miniatx case and with top end components? Whats wrong with a full size atx?

because I'm not keen on keeping tower (used to have with gtx 480 back in day) and not interested in big looking chunky builds anymore. as far I know 1080 runs much cooler than 480 did doesnt require too much of a cooling. mini atx should do the job. I am wondering tho about the mini atx sizes and what mobos. tower mobos or full size atx mobos tend to be cheaper?

There is no such thing as Mini ATX. There is Micro ATX and Mini ITX. Going this route does not really cost much more, but you end up losing features on the motherboard. None of these features are really needed for gaming though. The biggest thing you lose is the ability to SLI or Crossfire, which I generally recommend against anyway. You do have to be careful with which case you choose though as there are some cases that will not fit the larger graphics cards or the larger CPU Coolers. There are plenty that do fit them just fine as well though. I am not very familiar with the specific models myself though as I am very happy with my big ugly black box.

I found some corsair and air box, tiny thing and squre what i need. As regards cpu cooling, I would go for those two tube air /preliquid coolers, few of those are mare by corsair and i believe they are super quiet vs normal fan?

Sli I something I dont think i would do with 1080, since prices tend to stay like that forever and by the time 1080 will be bottlenecked on games will be few years and new and better architecture will be out, most likely even cheaper than run sli 1080?

I dont get the issue, the tower sites below or out or site only visible when you have to plug shit in, what does a few extra inchs in dimension matter?
