Globalization has slowed down a lot since early 2000s, a lot of countries are implementing measures to protect their domestic companies and make it harder for foreign companies to operate in the countries.

Had a Chinese friend back in grad school. He wasn't the most "PC" guy towards our African (black) students. He was borderline racist.

Look no further than Brexit to see how far reaching modern anti globalist sentiment has become. Also the behaviors of many large corporations has begun once against shifting away from globalism.
