As for the original post, I don't think people should keep countering with the deep/dark web as the worst in the internet, because it's an entire web and you need to specify an actual website. And more importantly, the dark web and whatever site you suggest from it doesn't really fall under the "what internet has to offer" category. You, guy who claims dark web is the worst, you probably never even dared try to venture there.

What the internet offers us, normal Joes and Tatianas, is pretty much all that is indexed by the many big corp servers and search engines. The deep web isn't really part of what the internet offers us. I mean, give him a site that's actually reachable by the overwhelming majority.

That said, I never really tried 4chan or tumblr. Only read about them and it was mostly horror stories that were likely exaggerated. My worst so far, there's this website where people take and post photos of their dead fetuses or stillborn babies. Like, dressing them up and posing with them and calling them cute n stuff.

Seeing as there are literally illegal websites out there, no - they're not the worst places. I don't know about 4chan, but Tumblr's infamous reputation is greatly overstated. The vast majority of the site is memes, fandom or porn. Most of that with a liberal/feminist slant which I guess isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it's not the misandrist castration cult people make it out to be.

4chan was ok until all the /pol/ people started leaking into every board. Now it's just a huge echo chamber for angry, stupid people.

That's not to say there isn't still great content that is posted regularly. You just have to know where to find it.
