I recieved second opinion on my build. Would like to verify why.

So my initial 3D Modeling/Rendering was this:

The pieces of advice I got were the following:

Change the motherboard to an X99 chipset motherboard that supports M.2 PCI Gen 3 slot/s
Change the Samsung EVO 850 to a Samsung SM951, SM961 or SM950 Pro AHCI M.2 SSD
If you check the performance of the above SSDs they are much better performing than a SATA SSD
    Change the GTX980Ti to a GTX1070 8GB

Now I understand the graphics card and the SSD because both of them simply perform better.
However I'm not sure what he meant by the motherboard nor what this talk about M.2 PCI support is all about.

Granted I did forgot to mention to him what I plan to use it for so whatever opinion he gave me may not have that fact in mind.

Can anyone elaborate. Especially about the Motherboard change?

    1) Your motherboard already supports that.
    2) While those SSDs are nominally faster you wont normally get any benefits out of them unless you constantly read and write huge amounts of data on your own storage. External storage options dont allow such transfer rates so you will basically can only get a benefit when reading/writing your M.2 SSD.
    3) Fair point but you shouldnt blame whoever originally offered this build for you. New NVidia cards are only out for a little over 3 months.
