Question about potential monitor upgrade

So my PC specs that I built one year ago-ish are this:

MoBo: Asus z170-A
CPU: i5 - 6600k
GPU: GTX 970 4gb
Ram: 16GB
HDD: 2tb
SSD: 256gb

I use my computer mostly for playing games (hearthstone/LoL), watching twitch streams, and watching movies and TV shows.

Sometimes when I am playing LoL or wow I notice that my screen has different brightness throughout the screen and it appears to be scrolling up/down.

The monitor that I currently use is an ASUS VS248. It is 24", 1920x1080 is the resolution I use on my computer.

My question is, would I see a significant visual improvement in games if I upgraded to something like the Dell U2715H? I don't think I have ever really even seen a monitor with higher resolution that 1920x1080. Is it worth the price for the improvement?

I personally think a monitor is the best investment you can make in a PC, i mean its what you look at all day...

However i would say the one you picked is a bit pricy, you would be just as happy with this one imo:
