Morality of Human Reproduction in Relation to Congenital Diseases
Imagine a disease that:
-Is transmitted to an offspring in 100% of cases where the affected achieves procreation.
-Has an age-specific mortality rate equal to +|-10% of X years
-Does not affect quality of life in any way until death occurs.
Given these parameters, what age do you feel would X need to be before you would consider it immoral for an individual with such a disease to knowingly reproduce?
Why?
NB - Try to ignore external factors such as socioeconomic conditions, overpopulation concerns, and personal opinions on having children.
