The state of Boomkins?

Hey there.
Just wanted to know how boomkins are in legion so for.
Seriously considering rolling one.
How is the DPS, utillity and so on?

Not amazing compared to casters(mages/spriests) or leather(rogue/dh). Might change, might not. Play what you enjoy.

Not amazingly good, but also not amazingly bad. Unlikely to see significant buffs or nerfs. Good choice if you like consistency.

Wait 2 weeks for the dust to settle and some raid logs to come out.

We are in a great spot IMO. Not as strong as Mage/Hunter's but certainly on par if not better than Spriests. Better than elemental shamans and warlocks.

so far (Sep - 19 - 2014) boomkin DPS seems decent.

the only thing we lack is Burst (in both the single target and the AoE departement)
this is mainly due to the Astral Power resource we cycle through to cast either starfall or starsurge.
which, much like a warlocks soul shards used to, starts at 0.

the class itself is fairly easy to master with the only truly difficult spells coming from talent choices, which currently seem more situational than anything.

and with only 1 mayor offensive cooldown our damage output is incredibly stable, even during prolonged fights.
