Relic question

im not sure about this one but if you add a point to a trait through a relic , do you still have to pay the full amount of points of this trait in order to move into the next trait?

ex. shadoword death requires 3 points in order to unlock the next trait , if i have a relic that gives 1 point to shadow word death do i still have to pay 3 points for the next trait? or only 2 since one is covered from the relic?

It is an additional trait point. If you need 3/3 on a trait, then you will need to put 3 points in and the bonus will make it 4/3.
