Youtubers and streamers should pay for being there. Twitch and youtube should get money, a lot more money than currently from popular dudes.

I do not believe these "hosters" have any option to go. They get so much donations they will stay either way. Youtube and twitch should become a lot more iron ruled - hosters without donation and subs button go free the rest should fucking pay money for getting hosted on a global huge popular site.

All these current "all time youtouber and streamers" should perish. Make it as hobby or get enough money out of donations from those who care for you. nothing, absolutely nothing professional here and no reason big companies and their ads should do anything

You guys remember that South Park episode where Butters had to put up with all the toxic messages on the internet to the point where he ends up in a hospital?
Also look at the like/dislike bar under the video. As of now it's 1.5k likes and 74k dislikes. And ofcourse we could not forget about turning off comments because damn if this new feature recieves anything but possitive feedback

Your post is pretty nonsensical, but this sticks out the most. If advertisers didn't think places like Twitch and Youtube were good investments, they wouldn't be advertising there. Obviously they are, so they think it is. Whatever guidelines they try put up for the type of content that features their ads is their prerogative, and youtubers/streamers are going to have to deal with that reality. But it's disingenuous to try and act like this system won't be abused by people who have no idea what any given advertiser deems inappropriate, and are simply looking for a way to silence those they disagree with (or who disagree with their regressive puritanical horseshit, as the case most often is).

From listening to Admiral_Bahroo the other day, unless it's a big esports stream that regularly runs ads (like twice an hour or something) ad revenue isn't even a big part of what a Twitch caster makes anyway. It's pretty stupid to suggest that streamers should be paying to use the service, considering Twitch does already take a cut of their subs (and now donations with the "cheer" Bits).

"For too long we've been bombarded with terrible comments and content endorsing genocide and terrorism, doxing and stalking, or worse, misgendering people."

Only in the PC/SJW world can misgendering people be considered worse than genocide and terrorism.

You read it wrong. Notice the word "endorsing". They actually believe being called by wrong pronoun is worse than being threaten with death by genocide or terrorism. It really shows you just how much these people go outside. Their lives are so sheltered that having their feelings hurt is somehow equivalent to body injury.

    OP's first sentence after video.

Even without the word "endorsing", those were my thoughts exactly

Yet on the other hand, we could regard it as a form of progress if they seek to push more towards a 'political correct' (read: nicer/(child) friendlier) environment.

But everything it about goes against the principles behind the spirit of free speech though. While I'm conflicted about it, they seem to have made up their mind about in which direction they want to (aggressively) push internet culture. Nothing good ever came from a puritan moral and social code.

This seems more and more like a war on the internet's anarchistic culture (GamerGate, 4chan, (entertaining) trolling, etc).
I agree. But it's very hard to balance Freedom of Speech / War on troll culture.

We all know youtube comments are usually pretty toxic, but the solution should come with better education/manners imo.
Just deleting bad comments is worthless and is catering to PC/SJW and their agenda of "safe place/safe feelings" that will contribute for a worse Humanity, as less people will be thick skinned and learn to ignore it/learn from it by their own hand... and actually become STRONGER as a person!

The only example that i know and experienced, is in Heroes of the Storm. You can't speak to the opposing team and you teammates and mute everyone at the start of the game... all for FEAR of Trolling and hurt feelings -.-'.
    Whats the point?
I want to be able to extend a greeting at start and end, and the ocasional joke about a random hilarious situation ingame.

Thanks to that, i'm not even able to do that.

Why can't users monitor their own channels? If there is anything to show why moderation is a bad idea, just look at these forums, you have a couple on here who are terrible and yet they remain moderators.

Terrible marketing. Who approved this name, campaign, incentive program? Fire them.

Just remove the comment section. Problem solved.

To be a bit more serious

Just gonna say... this is what happens when a community is allowed to fester. Youtube is just filled with people who are now actually physically attacking content creators, stalking them, spreading rumors on a large scale of pedophilia, rape, and other crimes...

That animation part where the "hero" is flagging videos without even watching them. Ughhhh. I mean, yeah, there are videos you can flag without watching, but none of those examples had porn thumbnails or something else that would warrant that.

As for the system as a whole, I wonder what kind of abuse prevention they'll have? Are they going to have a system where they can identify when a "hero" is consistently reporting/flagging things that shouldn't be flagged?

This sounds hugely exploitable. The flagging system is rubbish, so seems to me that people will just get loads of their videos flagged so that other people can rack up their youtube points. Plus, shouldn't these special features and tools (like the ability to talk to the staff) be available to all content creators anyway?

A great sign of things to come. Who needs to be able to comment anyway?

Considering the whole idea stems from them trying to shrug off the responsibility of doing these tasks themselves, I seriously doubt it.

From the same channel I found this gem. Love the puppets, and only wish the message was actually what happens:

Instead you can get 5 copyright strikes on completely fair use videos, some of which use absolutely no copyrighted content from the source at all, and dealing with the legal ramifications to get them to stop illegally flagging your videos can cost upwards of a hundred thousand dollars. https://www.gofundme.com/TBRDefenseFund

    Hah! Hahahahaha! Ahahahahaha! Hahaha!

    *ahem* Sorry.

But anyway. Talking about "abuse prevention" and anything having to do with Youtube is just hilarious. I think they've already demonstrated quite clearly that they don't really care about that.

You should know all about that
There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that “my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge." - Isaac Asimov
