By definition, theres a mass shooting in the US every day.

Well no, because the US uses a very specific definition of mass shooting so that most shootings can go unreported as a mass shooting:

FBI Definition of mass shooting: Shooting attack where 4 or more people are killed.

Using that definition, a shooter than shoots and wounds 10 people, but only killed 3 is not considered a mass shooting.
