    Hello fellow Mages !

I've got a sometrinkets, but can't find the setup that best serve my DPS in raids and Mythics !

    I've got these trinkets;

    Icon of Rot(905) -
    Wriggling Sinew (870) -
    Aran's Relaxing Ruby w/150+mastry gem (860)
Fury of the Burning Sky(890) - (mine says 288,146 fire dmg )
    Unstable Arcanocrystal (865) -
Whispers in the Dark (925) ( 53% for 12 sec, nad 21sec for 8 sec mine says)

I've simmed some combos and gotten these numbers, but not sure about the combo is good or not.
    Dark+Unstable = 437,395
    Rot+Unstable = 436,463
    Fury+Unstable = 430,702
    Dark+Rot = 417,063
    Fury+Dark = 411,370
    Fury+Rot = 410,225

Sorry for no Armory and Trinket links, but i was not allowed to post any links yet! but you can find at " /wow/en/character/sylvanas/Thesala/simple "

Thanks for the input and help

    Hello,

One of my newest Arcane Mages is learning how to raid and has decent gear. She is struggling to understand her spec and I have never played a mage so I could use all the help. Like I said, she's new to raiding, so no worries if she's doing something completely wrong.

Here are some logs from a normal run we did with her.

    Hi Guys,

Kinda new here, but heard this was the place to go ^^
At the moment i play Arcane mage for our ToS Progress, happen to like the spec, as i came from fire.

I am struggeling with my DPS to keep it steady throughout the raid. At the moment it's too inconsistent.
When there is movement involved i drop big numbers on my DPS.
Now i know that it is not to overcome, but if there might be a chance to krank up my dps a bit it will eventually smooth out the numbers i think.

On fights with low movement i can get down around 800k, but when the movement is high i easaly drop to 500k or even lower. So i don't know if im missing something in my rotation, movement or gear at the moment. I would love some advice on this one.

    A raid log ; www[dot]warcraftlogs[/url][dot]com/reports/FfqjaP3d2gpZGYQ1#source=10

    Advice is much appriciated

    Hello,

I would like if possible to get some help with my spec/gear progress. I've been away for quite a while and I was wondering what to do to get my dps up a bit, as I currently get around 500-550k Yes, those are the only 2 legendaries I have.

Hi, and welcome back to the game.

Unfortunately, Arcane is really legendary dependant in order to perform optimally. Without ring and expecially legs your dps will definetly not skyrocket, mainly because you will have to stack enough mastery to sustain your burn/conserve phases without going oom to soon, which is something you do not want with your legos.

Therefor, my main advice is to give a try to the Frost spec. It does wonders even without the right legendaries.

Regardless what your decision will be, here's a link to Altered Time, which is the main Mage Community besides the Mage Discord Channel: you will find plenty of infos in here to min/max every aspect of your character.

    Hello,

Currently I am torn between playing Fire or Frost (leaning more towards fire) and had some questions on gearing, mainly on relinquished token buying. I wondering if it's better to buy tokens that will bump my iLvl up more or if to try and get proper trinkets/legos for my spec.

    Hey there.

To answer your question, i'd say that a good balance is the key to everything. First and foremost, you still need to increase your overall itemlvl as much as possibile, because that will give you the greatest increase in your overall performance, regardless of stats or the legendaries you have.

Once your ilvl is around a healthy 920ish, then you can start considering simming yourself for your stats priority and working on your legendaries.

Fire is THE most legendary dependent spec in the game, and you are going to have a hard time getting anywhere without your wrists (mandatory) and your belt (or your Time Warp ring, it's less powerful but still fine).

Frost, on the other hand, is absolutely fine without its best legendaries, and i would definetly recommend it while gearing up and getting your character on track stat wise, cause it is a fair bit less important for Frost to behave properly then it is for Fire (although both require a lot of work to give their best, but that can be said for all classes/specs... except Rogues. They just murder regardless.)

Hope this helps. Enjoy your gaming!

    Thank you for the response.

I figured as much that iLvl > all at the moment, having that reassurance is good. I actually have been using Frost for my daily driver while having Fire as my loot spec. Once I've reached that point, I'll definitely come back for any more advice for min/maxing.

So I'm in need of some desperate help here. I know the tier is almost over, but i'm using this fight log as a typical "ST type fight", so I can have my DPS on point for Antorus. Also, I've just always struggled on this fight DPS wise.

What can I change or work on to up my consistant dps? Am I timing things wrong? I think my opener is solid, but I'd love for some of yall more experienced mages to challenge it, if possible. Where are my areas of improvement. I'm mechanically sound, I'm just not satisfied with what I bring to the table DPS wise and don't want to be "extra-weight".

P.S. I ended up getting lucky and snagging two warforged fire relics from this fight, which put me at 937 iLvL from 931 iLvL.
Give me all the criticism you got!

Your kill time (which is quite decent btw) is perfect for Kindling. You should have gotten 4 Combustion, but you only got 2. This is most likely your biggest dps loss, and I am unsure why you are not using it on cooldown. Try to ensure your second pot has either TW+Combustion, or Execute+Combustion (depends if you play ring or belt).

Try to use Owl trinket with combustion, as long as you get maximum usages (3). Might aswell macro combustion and troll racial.
You cast quite many scorch outside of execute / combustion.

Looked through some other logs. Look at popular builds on bosses on warcraftlogs. You are running the weirdest talents on host.

Gear / traits is not the best, but I assume you know that. Wrong stats, so even for its ilvl its not great.

This was extremely insightful, thank you!

One quick question about the stats. In your opinion, what would you say I need to prioritize more? Or is there a certain % I should have things at.

Stats - There is no magic number. Sim yourself!

While that being said (I have really good gear and arcano), I try to minimize crit, maximize ilvl, maintain 9-10 k haste. For multi target I swap in more mastery at the expense of vers, and I hit about 16k mastery there, with sub 7k crit (and still 9-10k haste).

Hello I am trying to figure out Frost, I main swapped to Frost and I need some help figuring out what I'm fundamentally doing wrong here. I use FB as my filler, then dump my FoF procs whenever they're up and every time a flurry comes up I cast it then Ice lance to shatter it. my damage is very lackluster, I feel I'm doing something very wrong. I can't post links yet or I would, my character is Aelaris on Borean Tundra.

    Thanks in advance!

Tryin to figure out my flaws on why I'm not parsing any higher. The reason for so many scorches is because whenever I have to move for any reason whatsoever, I immediately start casting scorch. Is this hurting me? Should I just focus on getting to point A to point B then start casting Fireball again? Would appreciate any advice or constructive criticism on where I could improve on.

    Thanks!

Wondering if anyone can look at my logs. It seems like I went from being the top DPS in guild to mediocre. I personally feel like my proc rate for Flurry and Ice Lance, more so Flurry, is extremely low which I think is causing me to drop massively in DPS. According to Raidbots, my gear sims around 2.02M DPS last I checked and I can never meet those numbers.

Anyway.. Character name is Dobly and Frost mage. Below is our recent mythic farm this week. Feel free to PM me.

Is my dps where it should be? can you tell if I have the right rotation?
Is there anything else I should be doing except getting tier and praying for BiS leggos.
