Need some help figuring which VGA adapter I should buy

    Hey all.

As the title implies, I'm needing some help figuring out which adapter I should purchase for my new GTX 1060 to work with a VGA-only display monitor. Since the card only has DVI type D port, should I buy one of these box adapters (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ugreen-Adap...+adapter&psc=1), or am I better off with a VGA to HDMI adapter/cable? Does the HDMI one come with any cons whatsoever?

Until I can afford a new monitor this is just a stopgap solution, but I wonder which one would be better in terms of picture quality (playing in a 1920x1080 resolution with my current display).

Thanks in advance for your patience!

I would stick with the DVI to VGA adapter because I know they work. I'm certain the HDMI to VGA adapter would also work since DVI and HDMI are electrically the same. Yes, HDMI actually encompasses the same signal as DVI. The reason to use HDMI is for convenience and audio, but nothing else beyond that.

In other words, HDMI and DVI are the same shit but different connectors and HDMI has digital audio.
