How long does it take for songs to become oldies?

Just like the title says. how long does it take? Are songs from the 90's now oldies yet?

A generation, usually. Though it's pretty subjective at the individual level.

I don't think oldie is a threshold that music passes in to, I think that oldies is in reference specifically to music from the 40's through the early 60's.

Edit: Just looked it up on wiki. According to radio stations, oldies is a radio format of music 25 years old. Also, oldies as a music demographic is dying and has been more or less replaced by "classic hits" which spans from the 70's up to the 90's.

Oldies to me still means 50s. 60s/70s/80s are their respective names
