    Power Supply compatibilitt

I am looking to build a new computer, since it has been almost 10years of my last upgrade. I took the lazy road and checked the build of the mont, under the namr of "Unicorn". But I seem to have ran into a bump..

The build of the month is suggesting to use EVGA 650W SuperNOVA 650 G2 as the PC's power supply, yet the stores in my country doesn't sell the piece, nor does Amazon ship it here.

Now I'm asking for help here: could you recommend a power supply which would be compatible with the build of the month Unicorn and be possibly under the brand of Corsair? Something as close to the EVGA as possible, but with another brand and ofc viable for the set i was planning to build.

    Thanks in advance.

What stores do you buy from/what country are you in; we may help you better if you let us know.

Use the link above. EVGA 650W SuperNOVA 650 G2 is a Tier 1 PSU so feel free to select any of the PSU's in Tier 1 or any of the PSU's in Tier 2 for a little less money.

Or there are several PSUs in the Tier 2 and 3 list there that are IDENTICAL to the Tier 1's just a different brand and label, but still perform EXACTLY the same so should be Tier 1 and are not, so just don't go by that list at all, it is very flawed.

It's not flawed at all. It is perfectly fine. If you disagree, feel free to post at tom's hardware and debate with the PSU experts there and tell them that they don't know their shit.

I am sure they will be greatly impressed by your abundant knowledge and especially, your arguments as expressed above.

Toms rankings are pretty awful - and what Lathais said is right - several Tier 3 models listed there are 100% identical to Tier 1 models and just branded sifferently, so whoever compiled that list sorta blew it.

Just go to JohnnyGuru. PSUs are literally their thing, complete with full teardowns to examine the internals.

OP, FWIW, id never recommend any of the Build of the Month rigs. The reccomendations make little to no sense.

For a good PSU, without a lot of overthinking, grab a Seasonic in the wattage you need. Affordable, industry leading warranty, great peeformance, and one of the best manufacturers in the entire industry.

Ok, so when there are 2 PSU's that are identical in every way except for the label stuck to the side of them and the box they come in, how is one rated Tier 1 and the other rated Tier 3 when they are quite literally the exact same thing? How is that NOT flawed? How is that perfectly fine? They are putting Tier 1 PSUs in the Tier 3 list simply because of the brand. They either do not know how to properly test things, do not know what things are or are getting paid money from someone to put things further down on the list. Not going to go there and and post it to their so-called experts either as that will likely not do any good at all. I just know that there are Tier 3 PSUs on that list that are exactly the same as some Tier 1 PSUs so that pretty much makes the whole list junk.

ACTUAL multiple PSU reviewers/testers/experts that work directly with the PSU and makes the reviews.

And the talk about how it's hard to make a plausible tier list because of individual needs.

Unlike random dude from THW, JonnyGuru, despite working at Corsair, is very objective with what he does.

Not really. Yes, he thankfully didnt call most of the cheaper Corsair PSUs amazing because they are quite frankly garbage, but he sure as hell praised their other PSUs on subjective categories when none was due. I'm totally all for trusting his competence and objectivity but only when it doesnt involve Corsair units.
