The journal claims nearby-enemies-only get damage and corruption from nova. Wowhead and wowdb pages of the spell do not report range last time I checked. Does anyone know exact specifics of range on both damage and corruption application of nova? At a good range the nova damage still seemed to go out equally.

According to WoWHead, 300 yards. Pretty sure the "nearby" is misleading and it's just a raidwide hit.

That would mean all the early advice of tanking it out was shit. Good to know if it proves true. It's what we derived last night and completely ignored that range information.

Alternatively the mechanic is bugged or works differently in mythic?

Tank it on Xavius pointed away from other tank and raid. The nova can't be avoided, but it does cleave in front of him.

Blah. Just checked our kill last night and sure enough, the entire raid was hit by all 4 novas.
