Ignorant question about spec order at Warcraft Logs

Right at the moment, I see Warcraft Logs showing affliction handily above the others at mythic difficulty. As you step down, demonology and destruction rise, affliction sinks. What causes that kind of thing? Is it a matter of better players getting more use out of affliction's potential, shifts because of gear scaling, something else?

    this is mythic only https://www.warcraftlogs.com/rankings/10#class=Warlock

I don't see many affliction warlocks there. You must be mistaken

I think he means this: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/statistics/10

And this is due to one, yes a single Aff lock, doing pretty well at dragons, seen here: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/statistics/10#boss=1854 and thusly messes the averages up.

It is far too early to draw conclusion from mythic. Just compare the amount of logs in mythic to those in heroic. You are going to see some screwy stats.

That is using normalized scores, if you look at dps rankings, affliction is about middle of the chart and destro rises above it by ~15k

However, as pointed out, there are VERY few affliction parses.
