Thailand's king has died after over 70 years of reign as the world's longest ruling head of state.
According to CNN,
This comes as huge news in an already politically unstable country that is currently ruled under military junta. The king died at 3:52 p.m. local time and passed away in a "peaceful manner," the Royal Palace said.
Adulyadej's successor, his son Maha Vajiralongkorn, is widely disliked across the country. This comes into conflict with Thailand's strict lèse-majesté laws.
