Transmog restriction on the new Hallow's End witch hats

I was pretty excited when I first saw the designs for the new Hallow's End witch hats. In spite of them being marked as cosmetic items, it turns out that they are not transmoggable. Blizzard themselves have confirmed that this is intended in the following tweet (source):

Hey Mike! Thanks for your patience while we looked into this. It turns out these items are not intended to be transmogged. ^JH

We once had this problem with the Crown of the Fire Festival, and I urge everyone who is let down by this fact to voice their dissatisfaction on the official forums or through the in-game suggestions form as it seems to have helped before.

I think it's ridiculous we can't mog anything and everything.
I see people with a mix-mash of shit looking gear that makes them look ridiculous because they don't care about xmog or how things look -- all they are about are stats. How is that different than looking like a dirty dumb, slut mog, xmas, halloween, whatever?

I don't understand their irrational nature of locking things down at all.

Kinda funny how blizzard added a cloth hat in the new Karazhan that has the exact same model like these hats and IS transmoggable....

There's a ton of stuff that isn't transmogable listed as Cosmetic... which makes no sense to me. Cosmetic items are there for appearance only, and the fact that they don't unlock a transmog option for that appearance means we have to purposefully hurt our stats to get an appearance we might want. It's just one of those things that makes no sense at times in this game.
