illegal immigration is fueling people to go to the polls

Let me preference in saying that I believe the sole cause of our slow economic growth is that we let people who can't speak english or is trying to smuggle drugs across our boarder is stealing our jobs and driving wages down. I think this election will come down to furthering our economic decline or beginning to dig ourselves out of this mess created by illegal immigration. The excuses people use is astounding for why people without a visa is staying here, they say its in the name of having a diverse society which is costing US tax payers loads of money in the long run.Hopefully, Americans this time will make the right choice this time.

    1. You can't "steal a job". That makes no sense, economically.

    2. Undocumented immigrants aren't smuggling drugs back and forth, by definition. A person who goes back and forth isn't an immigrant.

    3. There is absolutely zero data to link slow economic growth to undocumented immigration, and the assertion is made even more laughable when you consider that more undocumented immigrants are LEAVING than are coming in.

    4. Undocumented immigrants are roughly budget neutral, so they don't cost U.S. taxpayers anything.

Meh, let them in. They make my life easier. Their pain is my gain.

Yeah, immigrants get all thoes great jobs that everyone wants. It's a known fact.
I always wanted to be a dish washer or working at a burger joint. Maybe even a nightshift janitor. It's my dream man! But all thoes immigrans just keep "stealing" my jobs!

    Go back to school, OP.

No, but they do have a direct cost reduction due to not having to follow tax codes both for their employers (being directly able to work for cheaper as a result) and themselves (they're illegal. They can not pay taxes as per being unregistered or they would not be illegal). They use the infrastructure of the nation just as well without paying for it. They mop up positions of low-skilled labour too efficiently for native born people to effectively compete against due to the proportionally large cost differential. Boils down to simple mathematics - if they cost a third of the native worker to hire and keep there, they don't even have to do half the work in proportion to be worth the same.

This is also all from the native low-skilled labour market. No one gets experience or gets to, you know, earn their money with entry positions any more. Do you not see the problem? This punishes people for obeying the laws. People also need personal capital to fund economic growth - because the PEOPLE make it happen, for their own reasons and with their own ways. Unless you want every American to become a modern-day slave lord lol gg wp

There are two types or immigrants. Those who are skilled, and those who are unskilled. Skilled immigrants create more money in taxes for the economy, and are a positive thing. Unskilled immigrants take money from the economy in the form of benefits, and are a negative thing. Skilled immigrants are generally well educated with good morals, unskilled immigrants are generally the opposite, and cause societal problems of their own.

    1. If you can hire an undocumented immigrant off the books, you can hire a citizen off the books. The idea that one of those things is cheaper than the other is nonsensical.

    2. Most undocumented immigrants actually do work on the books under ITIN numbers. This causes them to pay taxes, but they can't file tax returns, so they can't get their money back. They also don't qualify for any federal means-tested programs, all of which require a citizenship check to obtain, including Social Security and Medicaid. They pay into these systems, but can't collect.

    3. The low-skill, low-wage jobs you are referring to are not entry level positions in the sense that you are describing them. People don't get a job as a janitor at a hotel and eventually run the hotel. These are jobs with extremely low mobility, very low glass ceilings.

LUL. You are exaggerating the effects of illegal immigration, yes they are bad but they're not the single reason the us is going through slow economic growth.

Yup in electing Hillary Clinton, but I don't need to hope since we already have early voting data and its stellar for democrats.

P.S. Got any facts to support these beliefs of yours? But of course not, regressive members of the alt-wrong crowd like you don't need facts do they? Facts are just inconvenient things which get in the way of your hatred of the "other".

There isn't anything useful here and it seems more like this is meant to discuss the election than anything else, which is already covered in the appropriate megathreads.
