MC Server host for solo/duo player for modded MC?

So the more I break into playing modpacks on MC the more I realize the large percentage of resources it takes. I have a fairly good PC, but if I try to play modpack singleplayer MC like Project Ozone on my PC, where I'd hosting the server myself and trying to play with a resource pack, its quite laggy and irritating.

I want to help offset this by moving the server to a host which is inexpensive for 1-2 people to use lag-free on a modpack. Theres a TON of MC server hosts out here, so its hard to know exactly where to start. Good to know which ones allow for auto installation of curse mod packs, and the capability to swap modpacks.

Thanks, but its quite expensive compared to most other providers. $20 a month just to start using modpacks. Guessing its because it offers unlimited users which isn't at all what I need

Yea thats quite expensive for a solo/duo MC server host. Usually you can get one for < $10 for that number of players.

Friend of mine runs a pixelmon server with https://shockbyte.com/minecraft.
fairly cheap and their service is quite decent
