Famous people acting like they're just regular people..

I am sick of famous people acting like they're just 'regular' people. I will use british comedian Michael McIntyre as an example. I am a big fan of his, but he has alot of material that's based on the premise that he's just a middle class guy with not alot of money. He talks about clothes for his wife being too expensive, restaurants and shopping being too expensive. Now I just looked it up, and McIntyre is worth around $50 million. Why does he insist on keeping up this bullshit charade about not being able to afford stuff? Why not just be honest about it? He drives a Ferrari, people aren't stupid.

I think a big reason a lot of comedians keep up that charade is to try to give the audience some material they can relate to. Generally a believable story (at least in observational comedy) tends to be funnier (in my opinion) because you can sort of see it happening to yourself or another average person.
