    Spec balance in Mythic

Parse numbers from Mythic EN are interesting.

    https://www.warcraftlogs.com/statistics/10#

Out of 467,705 DPS spec parses there seems to be two clear winners. Two specs have together more than 25% of parses. How is this even possible?

    Mage Fire ........... 13.92%
    Hunter Marksmanship . 13.02%
    Rogue Assassination .. 7.47%
    Demon Hunter Havoc ... 7.23%
    Priest Shadow ........ 7.18%
    Shaman Enhancement ... 6.19%
    Druid Balance ........ 6.09%
    Warlock Destruction .. 5.15%
    Paladin Retribution .. 4.64%
    Death Knight Unholy .. 4.18%
    Warrior Arms ......... 3.48%
    Monk Windwalker ...... 3.46%
    Warlock Demonology ... 3.39%
    Warrior Fury ......... 2.37%
    Shaman Elemental ..... 2.33%
    Druid Feral .......... 2.17%
    Death Knight Frost ... 2.07%
    Hunter Beast Mastery . 1.88%
    Rogue Outlaw ......... 1.64%
    Rogue Subtlety ....... 0.68%
    Warlock Affliction ... 0.56%
    Mage Arcane .......... 0.50%
    Mage Frost ........... 0.27%
    Hunter Survival ...... 0.14%

    Total .............. 100.00%

Because they're pures. Pures condense nearly all their raiding players into their best performing raid spec - and hunters/mages have ALWAYS been above average popularity classes.

I like to rat on fire mages as much as the next guy, but that isn't relevant there.

Also Frost DK / Fury warrior at the bottom are duplicates, they're already in the table.

Just means those 2 specs get played much more than others in mythic.

    Did you think anything else?

Warlocks and Rogues have both had a roller coaster of "which fucking spec should I be playing?" because the devs were still tinkering with them going into mythic, so lots of them ended up playing different things. I've seen all three rogue specs in the top 50, all three doing "decent" because they couldn't figure out which would decidedly be the best.

On the other hand, there's been zero contest as to which mage or hunter spec is the best; no tinkering that could bring others close until 7.1 when progress was over for most people who cares enough to switch.

You are right. I just copied whatever Warcraftlogs had. I'll delete them.

Well aside from there being obviously a lot of hunters and mages they also happen to be very good for mythic+.

And if you look at classes getting played:
Class DPS healer tank average/spec percent % classes in 110 +/-%
    Hunters 71.101- 00.000- 00.000- 23.700- ~10,00% ~09,70% ~0,30%
    Mages 69.369- 00.000- 00.000- 23.123- ~09,92% ~08,00% ~0,08%
    Rogues 46.264- 00.000- 00.000- 15.421- ~06,62% ~06,40% ~0,22%
    Warlock 43.072- 00.000- 00.000- 14.357- ~06,16% ~05,80% ~0,36%
    Shaman 40.339- 35.931- 00.000- 25.423- ~11,00% ~07,90% ~3,10%
    Druid 39.043- 37.809- 16.724- 23.394- ~13,00% ~11,20% ~1,80%
    Demon Hunter 34.192- 00.000- 8.888- 21.540- ~06,16% ~13,30% ~6,14%
    Priest 34.003- 29.516- 00.000- 21.173- ~09,08% ~06,60% ~2,48%
    Death Knight 29.587- 00.000- 11.625- 13.737- ~05,89% ~06,90% ~1,01%
    Warrior 27.727- 00.000- 18.372- 15.366- ~06,59% ~09,20% ~2,61%
    Paladin 22.074- 36.029- 13.638- 23.913- ~10,00% ~10,20% ~0,20%
    Monk 16.349- 15.149- 2.554- 11.350- ~04,87% ~04,80% ~0,07%

If you then compare to the number of 110 in example EU you will see that participation for the most part fits. with some outliers which are most likely due to flavour of the month or like everyone levelling a demonhunter just to have one.
