I just got it. I don't think there's anything different. The only thing I noticed was that the tooltip changed to a blunderbuss.

sorry for double quote but the answer is prety much confirming the same thing, and I would feel bad making same comment twice.

well, that is a bummer, I thought it is going to be some epic blunderbuss model doing some real shooting

It has a slightly different sound effect and it does damage divided by a nummer of pellets so instead of 1 big number you see several smaller ones. That's the only thing different about it.
