Not to poo-poo on all of these reports, because some are valid. But a lot of these are BS, just to keep spreading fear through the media.

There was one that was pretty popular for a little, but then the local Police Department tweeted the person saying this report wasn't made. And as far as I can see, no police report has been made by the "victim".

Again, I'm not saying none of this happened. But to blindly believe the media is why we are in this situation to begin with.

They would be doing hateful shit regardless if Trump won or not, so stop playing up this angle as if he is empowering them. They obviously already feel empowered or they wouldn't exist.

I LOVE that the photo they're using on the article of the swastica graffiti was debunked by the BBC themselves the other week in an article suggesting that a lot of these attacks weren't really happening.

The graffiti in question (like most of it I'd wager) was done by some democrat supporters to make a statement about Trump.

For 30+ years that divide didn't exist, as it was just Donald being Donald. He runs for president, suddenly the media is "investing" so much into him. Was Phil Heartman and SNL clairvoyant in late 80s to start investing then? Were the Simpsons? Was the NFL by denying him a team for 3 decades because his peers couldn't trust him?

Saying the media invested in going after him, actually means you are ignoring how Trump was treated 2 years ago and sooner. Media didn't change and neither did Trump. You just got scammed...

The first one to really go viral involved a Muslim female student at the University of Louisiana who claimed to have had her hijab ripped off and her wallet stolen the day after Trump's election by two white men wearing Trump hats. But on Thursday, local police announced that the young woman had admitted she fabricated the story. "This incident is no longer under investigation," the Lafayette Police Department said in a press release.

And an alleged incident of a gay man named Chris Ball getting beaten up by Trump supporters in Santa Monica on election night seems to have not happened the way it was initially recounted, if the incident even happened at all. The Santa Monica Police Department posted a message to Facebook Thursday saying that neither the department nor city officials had "received any information indicating this crime occurred in the City of Santa Monica" and "a check of local hospitals revealed there was no victim of any such incident admitted or treated."

Other instances of "Trump inspired" violence and vandalism have also turned out to be hoaxes or misinterpretations. An alleged Ku Klux Klan rally in honor of Trump's victory turned out to be an old photo of conservatives carrying U.S., Gadsden, and Christian flags that were billowing out in a manner mistaken in a grainy photo for Klan robes.

University Police (UP) arrested a female student early Wednesday evening for "false report of commission of crimes," according to a Hillsborough County Jail report.

Fatou Gueye, 19, reported to UP on Tuesday evening that two white men in their early 20s had followed her through the MLK Plaza toward the Interdisciplinary Science Building before attempting to engage her in conversation. They then grabbed her backpack, which caused her necklace to fall off, according to UP. She described one suspect as having shoulder-length blond hair and wearing a white shirt with khaki shorts, and the other as having blond hair and wearing gray sweatpants with a dark blue shirt, according to UP. Police reported that all of the victim's property was recovered at the scene.

UP said that during follow-up interviews, Gueye's story wasn't adding up and she later admitted she "falsely reported the crime and no robbery occurred."

Gueye is one of a group of four students who reported receiving threatening messages inside their residence hall on election night stating that if Democrat Hillary Clinton won there would be death, according to UP. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

In an email sent out to the campus Thursday, the University Communications and Marketing department said, "initial details indicate that several of these incidents may have been fabricated."
