Do you need to buy it now?
Here in Sweden I've seen GTX 1070 laptops go for that much on Black Friday, and 1070 is much better than 1060. Maybe wait for Christmas sale?
Do you have any shops that can make a customized laptop? 8gb ram is a bit low, and maybe a customized laptop you could slap 16gb ram and 6700k instead of 6700HQ, as well as 1070, and get it for about the same price on christmas sale.

Suppose I don't need it now no, my desktop is still in perfect working order and probably still always remain my primary device. I did want it now though but guess I could try hold on

Kind of torn between a few now, All are similar priced:
Any input on helping me choose would be appreciated please

    Asus ROG G752VM
    MSI GE72VR
    Gigabyte P57W V6

The Gigabyte is my least favourite because once specs and price chosen, the look of the thing has to count for something right?

You seem to be from UK.
    Why not:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/HP-17-w106n...en%2B1070&th=1
1070 for about the same price.

Or if you really want a 1060:
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-Omen-17...oAAOSwHMJYEije
It's german and probably german keyboard but that can be changed if needed.

Expand your search a bit and you'll find much better deals

    Edit:
I just noticed that MSI have a rebate and going for £1350 on Amazon, which is a good price, but I still think you should wait until Christmas sale and snatch a 1070 laptop for about £1400-1450 (maybe even less).

been looking into them more than just specs though, very important for laptops to have good cooling or the lifespan of the whole system is shorter

I gaming laptop has "good cooling", that's a joke. That's why gaming laptops are pretty much worthless because it becomes an immobile heavy weight you can't game around and about on or it'll overheat.

Destruct, I bought this laptop as a desktop replacement (replacing an i7 970gtx setup) and its been working out quite well. With the built in optical port it was very easy to slip into my current monitor, speakers, keyboard, and mouse setup. Not quite as quiet as my desktop which makes as much noise as a mouse fart, but within what I was expecting. I just needed to make my desk footprint smaller as I don't game as much now. I created an owners thread on notebook review forums with a lengthy run down with my experience and thoughts.
