You want to know why? Becouse of 265161 difficulty levels for everyting. So making differece in rewards you have to haav huge itemlvl jumps in each difficulty level so you actualy feel you getting more power. It is crazy what kind if numbers we pulling alredy 1 expansion after WoD where we had stat squish.

Agree, the gearing/progression system in Legion is absurdly complex with all the item levels and scaling. In WoD the best weapons from Archimonde are 3x as powerful as the heroic dungeon weapons (only 2 raid tiers keep in mind). In TBC, Kil'Jaeden weapons were only about 1.5x as powerful as heroic dungeon weapons. (TBC had 3 raid tiers)

Legion is great overall, but the diablo-style RNG on top of RNG endgame is kind of ridiculous with all the various difficulty modes and warforge/titanforge gear etc...

Well, besides removing few difficulties there's nothing Blizz can do about it. 15ilvl step between difficulties and/or tiers is a bare minimum, otherwise players will ignore content. Not so mane people do something for the sake of doing it, people want rewards.

For example, something like this happened to original BRF, rewards weren't good enough, so players ignored it and kept farming HM, and Blizz had to buff BRF drop
