    PC Upgrade

    Hi,

I need some help concerning upgrading my computer.
    Some General Information:

    CPU: Intel Core i7 - 2600 CPU x 3.4 GHz (4Cpus)
    Motherboard: ixtreme M 5850
    RAM: 10gb DDR3
Graphics Card: AMD RAdeon HD 6800 Series (1GB Memory)
    OS: Win 7

I use two displays and the main display got a resolution of 1280 x 1024.
Should I upgrade the Graphic card so that I can play games with higher settings or would something else be better?

Personally I'd get a monitor before anything else but...
    What's your budget (and location)?
    What games are you playing?

IMO, you should buy a new GPU and a better monitor so that you can play at least at 1920X1080 resolution or even 2560X1440.

My year 2003 laptop has got 1280X1024 resolution and I 'd bought a 1600X900 monitor back in 2008 for my Core 2 based desktop PC if memory serves.

The CPU is fine. You should disable HT and overclock it to 4.5 GHz or so.

The world has moved on, so should you.

Posting my 2003 model laptop's specs for lulz:

2003 called. They want their 1280X1024 resolution back.
