Couch co-op PS4 games to play with the wife

Hello, I need some suggestions about good PS4 games to play couch co-op with my wife. We have beat Trine, Trine 2, Rayman, Resident Evil Revelations 2.

I'm buying Diablo 3 soon for PS4 but I also want to play other stuff.

We like platform games, adventure games, horror. Stuff we dont like are FPS and sport games (other than mario kart but cant play that on PS4!)

You like Resident Evil, try RE5 or 6. It's has local coop iirc. Any Lego game, LBP 3, it's a shame you don't like FPS because the Borderlands collection would be awesome.

I find it hilarious that what was once just called "two players" is now called "couch co-op".

You really have to make the distinction nowadays because some games are "two players" but don't allow for local coop player :/

Sucks since todays TVs are bigger (per dollar) and crisper than what we used to squeeze 4 player split screen on.

I think Divinity: Original Sin support local co-op, make sure for yourself before you buy it though

As much as I like my PS4, for local multiplayer the Wii U is simply the better choice, playing Mario 3D World, Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart or Smash with friends is just so much fun!

I'm pretty sure if I broke out one of my PS2games, on the back you would see something that says "2 player split screen". We have always had that distinction Couch co-op sounds terrible.

    I've called it Co-Op since I was 7-8. I'm now 27. It's not new.

I haven't played it myself yet, but Overcooked is supposedly a great split-screen game for up to 4 players. I think its mainly competitive, but I also recall something about a co-op mode to clear stages.

Also, Wild Guns: Reloaded when it comes out on the 20th of December. I recommend that over everything.

Great choice with Diablo -- my wife loved playing that with me and she is not someone I would call a gamer by any stretch.

Ok, but did you call it "couch co-op"? I grew up in the NES and SNES era and new once heard anyone refer to it as "co-op", let alone "couch co-op". That is a new term and its proliferation is the resulted of a lack of local multiplayer in recent years. I was merely commenting on the changes to the video game medium and associated terminology in the last 30 years. Nothing more.

    Co-op was "Two-Players: Mode A"

There definitely were games back then that did use the term Co-Op in their menu though.

2 games that are fantastic in co-op

lovers in a dangerous spacetime ( each player controls a bunny and you run around operating different parts of a spaceship )

Overcooked ( really fun but kinda stressful it times :P )

Yeah, that game is a SERIOUS hardcore RPG game, I'm not sure that'd be a good choice for you unless your wife was really into that sort of thing.

I've done a lot of Co-op on my PS4, Gauntlet was kind of mindless, but fun. We're in the middle of Fat Princess Adventures and Zombie Vikings right now, and those aren't bad.

Because unlike then, now you have "Splitscreen Coop", "Two players Coop", "Couch Co-op" is when 2 or more players play on one console on one TV, "Local multiplayer" that is Coop too but you need two consoles connected with ethernet to play (LAN mode).

You simply can't fit all possible modes and methods under "Two player" mode anymore.
When a player quits EVE and goes to WoW, the average IQ in both games increases.
