Dark Nights in Wow ( Immersive Add on)

Whats up guys, theres this really cool add on that Ive been using since the end of WOD that I think everyone should know about. Its called Night Illusion and it makes the evening and night in WoW more distinguishable than morning . It doesnt seem like the author has been updating it but it still works and I havent had any issues.

    Quick features:
-has a flashlight toggle for extra illumination at night (not recommended)
    - the filter disables when you enter a building and returns as soon as you step back out (makes indoors cozy)
    - you can adjust the times for night time. I set mine from 5:00 p.m to 6 a.m.

The add on works by putting a filter over the game but it does not cover your UI (map, actionbars etc) which gives it a very natural look.
-Keep the min alpha at 0%
-Adjust max alpha between 35-40% or whatever you like. I keep mine at 40%

*Settings are going to vary based on your gamma settings and your pc screen.

Ignore the awful pictures the author put on curse. You can make the add on look really good if you set the filter to the right settings.

if you want an even better experience, after setting up the add on uncheck the box that "Shows button" and download this old school morning and night mini map indicator.

I really like it. This combined with my dynamic cam settings and either storyline or catchthewind for questing make wow soooo much more enjoyable and rpg like

Don't come here crying when you'll get yourself banned, ok?
When a player quits EVE and goes to WoW, the average IQ in both games increases.

After a cursory glance on the addon page, it appears to be only adding an overlay, a texture over the screen.
Is there something else I am missing which is prompting that reaction ?

Because there is nothing wrong with that.
Any time an addon or even the default UI puts a texture or icon on the screen it is doing exactly the same.
I can think of many instances when the default UI does just that.

Just a heads-up to addon skeptics: if an addon can do it, and you are using only an addon to do it, it's not bannable. This is not counting obvious stuff like spam, harassing other players, or if a function happens to do something to the game world like kill mobs. If Blizzard doesn't like what an addon is doing, they will not ban you, they will break the part of the API that allows the addon to function. The perfect example of this is AVR from Wrath.
