China probably has a more uneven and unbalanced wealth distribution than the USA.
China's economic system is better described as "state capitalism", not "communism".
We have examples in the world that capitalism works, we don't have examples in the world that communism works. So yeah...
And China has a capitalist economy, but uses the communism as political regime to keep its oppressive machine working. After all, oppression is the only thing that can succeed in a communist country.
L-O-L If you are willing to literally slave the poor away and trash the entirety of your country's ambient, then sure communism sure as fuck works. Hell literally every system works like that, just disregard silly things like human rights.
I feel like you are taking people saying "Communism doesn't work" to mean that "Capitalism does work", neither of them work in there truest form.

It's the most common mistake human beings make, and on a daily basis at that. There's no 'pure' version of any social construct or 'standard' by which citizens live. Just because it's something one experiences everyday does not mean it is the norm.
Communism works mostly okay in a small scale setting where most of the people involved are either relatives or know each other. It becomes challenging when we are dealing with mass societies of mostly anonymous individuals.
On MMO-C we learn that Anti-Fascism is locking arms with corporations, the State Department and agreeing with the CIA, But opposing the CIA and corporate America, and thinking Jews have a right to buy land and can expect tenants to pay rent THAT is ultra-Fash Nazism. Bellingcat is an MI6/CIA cut out. Clyburn Truther.
I agreed that communism isn't completely communism. If I had to choose a system for myself along the gradient of capitalism to communism, I would choose primarily communism with capitalism components. I am generally more about the collectivism than the individualism. Stronger together than apart. I feel the USA is primarily capitalism with communism components. Not a good fit for me.
China has a lower per capita GDP than amazing countries such as: Kuwait, Chile, Mexico, Costa Rica, Romania, Kazakhstan...
Clearly communism has claimed a glorious victory for the motherland.
