    Hero Idea: Achilles (Riot Police)

    Name: Alekos Kara
    Code Name: Achilles
    Role: Tank/Off Tank
    Health:400
    Weapon: Anti-Riot Shotgun (close-range) with non-lethal rounds.

    Backstory)

during his life as a police officer Alekos was a firm believer in law and order and did his best to maintain it, but after the omnic crisis many greek cities were struck by unrest and riots began breaking out in every corner of the country. he was discharged when he refused to use live ammunition on protesters, unbeknownst to him, some of the protesters were also armed and managed to take the police force by surprise. the riot left many casualties on both sides and was considered to be a disaster for the national police force. After he was bitterly fired from the police force, Alekos started working for G.S.S (Global Security Services) which is a private security firm that provides private police forces and private military personal to poor countries. going by the callsign "Achilles", He now travels across the globe to provide security to the clients of the G.S.S.

    Abilities)

    E) Smoke Grenade: rolls a smoke grenade on the ground facing the targeted direction, the canister rolls in a straightline and bounces off when it hits map obstacles like walls. it leaves a gas cloud in it's trail that blocks vision and prevents enemies from seeing enemies in highlighted borders. (those revealed by hanzo arrow and widow ult are excluded)

your allies can see through this smoke by seeing highlighted borders of enemy models. this is a useful ability to either give your long range dps an advantage or cover your team's retreat/advance.

    Shift) Kinetic Armor:
Achilles armor charges up and gives him 500 shields for 5 seconds. while this ability is active Achilles does not receive critical damage from headshots. while Kinetic Armor is active Achilles cannot be stunned or put to sleep.

    V) Shock Baton:
Your melee is a shock baton. how it works is that once your shock baton is charged your melee abilities deal an additional 20 damage and will stun the enemy for 1 second. if the stunned enemy's health is/falls below 20% Achilles will "arrest" said enemy while they're stunned. "arrested" enemies respawn back from their spawn points as if they're dead and they will respawn with an additional 3 second delay, they also cannot be resurrected. But if Achilles dies within 3 seconds of making the arrest the arrested hero will be freed. the shock baton charges up every 15 seconds. while your shock baton is on CD your melee will act like a regular melee weapon.

    weapons:

    1) Shotgun

Non-lethal Shotgun that fires rubber pellets, it doesn't deal alot of damage like Reaper's shotguns but it does knock people back a little and slows down their movement speed for a split second. the closer the enemy, the further the knockback effect and the slow duration of the weapon will be.

    2) Tear Gas Launcher (Ultimate)

You equip a Tear Gas Launcher containing a maximum of 7 ammo. Tear Gas Launcher's ammo is finite and you gain ammo by dealing damage to the enemy and charging up your ult charger, which is actually the ammo of your tear gas launcher.

enemies directly hit by tear gas will receive 50 instant damage (130 headshot), tear gas travels faster and further than Junkrat grenades but it will not explode and deal instant splash damage, instead it will pop and cover an area in gas (similar to widow's mine but the covered area will be a little larger) deal +50 dot damage to nearby enemies in a duration of 3 seconds. also, it will degenerate their ult chargers by around 7% per round and will prevent them from charging their ultimates as long as they're under the DoT effect. So affected individuals will have their ult chargers reduced if they are hit by the tear gas or stand near it when it goes off.

    Overview:

Achilles does not have an ultimate in traditional sense, rather, his ult means charging up his secondary weapon, which can then be used by the hero to deter an enemy from engaging by covering an area with tear gas. tear gas can be a unique mechanic to force an enemy out of a position and govern the location of a teamfight because enemies who want to run through the tear gas will have their ultimate meters discharged, and if they have been building up towards the confrontation they will think twice upon getting hit by tear gas.

His role is to punish lone flankers that dive inside your backline while providing your team with some form of protection from long-medium range shooters via smoke grenades or provide your team with a distraction on Offense by leaving the enemy guessing of your team's attack route. shotgun deters enemies from diving into your team and getting close to Achilles. tear gas is already explained in the above paragraph.

Perhaps Achilles most important and interesting ability is his ability to "arrest" severely wounded enemies which will cause them to respawn slower. arrested enemies also will not be able to be ressurected by Mercy which makes his mechanic excellent for deterring lone flankers from wading into your group without a plan. a well-time kinetic shield makes Achilles a powerful line-breaker who can charge into enemy ranks and withstand enemy CC for a short duration.

    Thoughts? :P

The V ability is interesting. Although the bit about it being removed if Achilles is killed might be on the edge of convoluted. The Ult reducing other peoples ult charges is pretty cool, I like that idea.

I'm glad you liked it . well that 3 second reversion was just thrown there...dunno. I felt like it would be interesting if someone could "rescue" their arrested friend or something.

but the main theme behind him is that he acts like an actual riot police, that is, he uses tear gas to disengage and pick stragglers off using a shock baton. smoke grenade's also there as utility.
