So they don't test the Microsoft Windows Defender that is in Windows 10 then?

Cosidering how Windows 10 itself is a virus it wouldn't be applicable. Seriously, that thing spammed me more than a real virus would, and it killed my computer when I finally broke down and upgraded.

Windows 10 spams people and is a virus? Why have I not noticed Windows 10 spamming me in the last 10 months that I've been using it? Is it because it actually doesn't spam people, and isn't a virus? Or do you mean "good old Windows 7" telling you to upgrade it to Windows 10?

Agreed... MS is the only one with a vested interest in protecting your machine, rather than earning money from you.

Challenge Mode : Play WoW like my disability has me play:
You will need two people, Brian MUST use the mouse for movement/looking and John MUST use the keyboard for casting, attacking, healing etc.
Briand and John share the same goal, same intentions - but they can't talk to each other, however they can react to each other's in game activities.
Now see how far Brian and John get in WoW.

I've tested multiple free antivirus software and after a while i always have trouble with them ranging from not-detecting stuff, too many false positive, too noisy (looking at you avast >_>), taking too much ressources for no reasons or even been a huge pain to delete from the computer.

Now that im on windows 10, i use their Defender with couple chrome extension to block most stuff, never had issues so far! (tho im not saying they are the best, i just didnt found anything annoying enough to get something else, yet)

That one. My computer got "infected" with Windows 10 and even the best antivirus couldn't keep it out.

I use Avast with gaming mode on and some browser addons.

I got bored at one point and had no AV installed for 6 months and went about my normal activity (gaming, web browsing, torrenting, porn) and scanned after with nothing wrong. With the smallest amount of knowledge and common sense it's quite difficult to actually get something nasty online imo.

There were plenty of ways to stop the windows 10 update notifications. Of course your antivirus didn't fucking stop them. Your computer didn't get infected with fucking anything.

I love how half the people here say something is good because they think so and then complain that someone else says that same thing is bad and ask for proof, and then when shown proof they dismiss it as being "just some website"... well guys, you're just some idiot on a forum that knows nothing about computer security, viruses or anything related to them, so I guess those shitty sites that can be completely wrong, will always be more trustworthy than your personal opinion that also provides no proof other than "I never got a virus in my life" lol, guess what, if you had a virus and used a shit anti-virus, you wouldn't know you had a virus.

Switched to bitdefender since the last AV slowed my pc to a halt. I'm loving it so far. Plus it doesn't slow my pc down.

use Norton. Not sure how much I pay yearly, but it protects several devices (my phone, my tablet, my computer, my laptop and my mom's laptop)

Having worked in computer repair for nearly two decades, I can say this much.

They all suck. Some simply more than others. Like airlines, internet ISP's, and phone carriers, you just pick the least awful one.

Norton, AVG and McAfee are awful, and generally cause more problems than they fix or prevent.

Avast breaks a lot. Eset takes forever and clobbers your CPU. Trend Micro is an overzealous pile.

I do like Webroot, because it's light, clean, and unobtrusive, however it locks the user out of management controls, which is awful for users on a subscription.

Personally, I have no AV, and I rarely have issues. But I also don't use IE or Edge, and take proper care of my system.
