Why so much hate for legion ?

Here is my understanding of the types of people and reasons some of them are disappointed with legion:

1) Legendaries. A lot of people want to be the best they can be and when they know there is something completely out of their control that can dictate their abilities to such an extent it causes them to dissociate and lose interest.

2) Difficulty between EN and ToV. I know so many people who thought they were amazing because of how easy EN was and then they started Trial of Valor and their guild couldn't do shit so they quit. People have too much unwarranted ego in this game.

3) PvP changes. Pretty much every class has had a point where they were OP already and got nerfed in Legion. When almost everyone felt like they were briefly FoTM and then got nerfed immediately after they thought they had their time to shine, these people get butthurt. Even though these rapid balance changes were actually good for the game people can't stand getting nerfed.

As sort of a foot note, people also were mad that pvp rewards weren't very good but this was mostly just at a casual level because rewards were actually insanely strong at high rating before it was changed.

4) People mad about certain class balance. Warlocks wishing they were fire mages, MYthic+ being super imbalanced class-wise, warriors initially being the best tank by far, demon hunters in general, etc. Legion made a shift in class dynamic and a lot of other changes that caused people to be upset with their class and be envious of others.

5) Artifact progression. Both a gift and a curse, this gives people something to do over a long period of time while also causing other problems. It makes you burn yourself out to keep up with others and makes it difficult to play other classes. If you ever want to reroll you are much farther behind than you would have been in other expansions and this makes it so that if someone isn't happy with their class they're more likely to just quit than reroll. This coupled with the other issues that make a lot of people want to reroll made them upset with the time they put into the class they chose and caused them to feel a greater disappointment with the game as a whole since rerolling didn't feel like a viable option.


Personally I think legion is pretty good. They tried a lot of things and most of them worked. There were some flaws but that is to be expected. People just get upset because they take themselves too seriously and always need a scape goat for why something isn't going their way. Instead of accepting their place they blame the game for putting them in that place and say it's bad.

a lot of people deliberately ignores the fact that this expansion will last for 2 years and from the moment they will get bis legendaries they will use it for whole 2 years.

system is ok for long run - it only sucks for those who were logging only for raids.- for all others it amazing because you finally have somethign to do in game.
