World Boss Spawns?

So a few weeks back we wound up with two world boss WQs spawning within a single week. People jumped to conclusions about the frequency of spawns increasing or that there'd now be multiple, independent spawns.

Was it an blip on Blizzard's part? Are we to expect another extra spawn a few months from now?

They stated their frequency of spawning would increase, but apparently not in any logical manner.

So one weekly and one seemingly at random is all we've got. This is more idle curiosity than anything else; it's a shame that none of the bosses drop anything with longevity (i.e. pet, mount, etc).
