    Their point was that it still acts like our mastery of increased per hot, not just a flat increase.

    ya the whole dimishing values thing makes the more of X stat mean a static increase doesn't scale as much as some other bonuses, a 850 ilvl 3000(or 4000) mastery is more desireable than when your 900 ilvl. But don't get me wrong, I like the bonus. It gives us a good bonus for something we are doing when damage is going out anyways. And it affects one of our best stats.
