"Gaming" laptop for girlfriend, Please help

Hello knowledgable people of mmo-champion! I would really appreciate some help with this since both me and My girlfriend are clueless on the matter!

She wants a new laptop and she wants it to be able to rum The Sims 4 smoothly on good settings.
She currently has a MacBook Pro which she says gets overheatwd quickly and lags allt.
She also says it is a bigger game than you would think so just any laptop would not do.
Budget is flexible, if under 1000$ that's great though!

I hope you can help is with this one so she stops asking to use my desktop all the time :'( .
    Thanks in advance!

Decent rig for less than your budget:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834154497

    15.6" 1080p screen
Kaby lake 7300hq (mobile i5 with 3.1ghz boost)
    GTX 1050 graphics card
    8gb DDR4 ram - user expandable to 32gb
    128gb SSD
    1 TB HDD

Reputable name brand for $900 bucks.

But if she's just going to be sitting at the house playing then get a Desktop. You'll get much more machine for the same price.
I sat alone in the dark one night, tuning in by remote.
I found a preacher who spoke of the light, but there was Brimstone in his throat.
He'd show me the way, according to him, in return for my personal check.
I flipped my channel back to CNN and lit another cigarette.

From what I can tell they both look nice! A quick google search tells me The Sims 4 requires Windows 7, 8 or 8,1 while both of these are Windows 10, can I assume that doesn't matter? She does download quite a bit of AddOns and Item packs, but other than that she only surfs the web and stores some pictures on the computer.

Also, it has to be a laptop, she needs to be able to carry it with her.

Thanks again for the help, it's much welcome!

Sims 4 is a pretty modern game. My wife also plays it - on windows 10. It will be fine. Pretty much anything that runs on windows 7 runs on windows 10.

If something runs on 7, it should run no problems on 10. Games are almost always backwards compatible, except in the case of some games that came out around the time of XP and earlier. Since Vista though, it seems that most games are supported on newer OSs.

Since you have a decent budget I suggest getting an Asus ROG laptop, Stay away from cyberpc/ibuypower as they tend to use shotty parts. I play Sims 4 on windows 10 and it runs beautifully.

3GB GTX 1060, i7-6700HQ, 256GB SSD, 16GB DDR4, can't get better specs for $1000. But it is in store only, need to live near a micro center.

Do NOT go with a 900 series M card unless you find a great deal around 500-600. The new cards are so much better, run cooler, and take less power.

Should've mentioned but we're from Sweden so a couple of those websites/stores are not available to us unfortunately
Thanks a lot for all the answers so far guys! Judging purely by performance, which one of http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/produ...15-7567-laptop
and https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...82E16834154497 would suit us best? Feels kind of safe with well known brands like those!
Either way, I guess I can debunk her claims that she won't be able to find a laptop suitable to her needs right?

Well, the sager notebooks that I mentioned are really just Clevo's sold by Sager. There are Sager Re-sellers in your area too:

If you are worried about known brands, Clevo is one of the largest and best laptop makers around.

Most games won't run well on Macbooks. Not because Macbooks are inferior...it's just that most games are only designed for Windows Machines.

More than likely. Clevo laptops are great. Not always the best in terms of looks, but durable machines that last and stay a bit cooler than other brands. Function over Form.

I wouldn't get anything with a 960M with the 1050s being put in to laptops. Aside from the fact that it is last gen tech and will not last as long, with this generation, they are no longer putting cut down lower powered versions in laptops. You get a laptop with a 1060, it's really a 1060. Unlike with the 960M as opposed to a real 960.

Even keeping in mind that we're talking about THE SIMS 4 as the ONLY game she'll be playing ever? Does it really have that big of an impact?
