SAG Awards "Punch some people in the face"

I'm still not clear if "punch some people in the face" is a metaphor or not. One part sounds like they are standing up to bullies and oppressors by using the face punching technique or does he mean it more in the sense, We'll take to twitter and Facebook and really let them have it?

I myself am getting a hint of, we'll actually punch people in the face, which I actually support since they are talking about standing up to bullies or people trying to destroy others. Fairly noble really.

I took it as, bullies are monsters, and when the bullies try to harm the most vulnerable in our society we as a nation will stand up in defiance and fight back.

In jest or no, anti-PC people are notoriously thin-skinned and will take this as some sort of threat (as illustrated by several in this thread.) When opposing the kind of politics and rhetoric espoused by Trump it's extra important to make sure your not putting across the same sort of hostility.

I can only speak for myself, but its not the people stating the message I would be worried about, but that part of their following that are to stupid to look beyond the literal.

Trump not supporting absolute free speech doesn't at all justify other people's violence. Two wrongs don't make a right.

The overall message was a good one, but his uncontrollable shaking and then paraphrasing at the end to punch people in the face kind of ruined the whole thing. However the crowd seemed to accept violence as a means to an end with their cheering.

At the end of the day, I doubt any of these people are going to punch people in the face. However some of their less intelligent fans may take it literal.

Punching Nazis in the face is pretty effective. Spencer got scared and questions whether it is save to be racist in public.
