Acknowledging what your nation has done wrong is always a good thing. Sort of the first step towards not repeating history.

I agree. While it won't change anything for those it concerns, it is still a good gesture and holds quite a bit of symbolic value.
Laws like those shouldn't have existed in the first place, but even though we can't change that anymore now, we can still learn from past mistakes and try to not repeat them.

Actually I was thinking of when the Queen had pardoned Alan Turing himself years back.

So yea there was a pardon, if only just one the one, so I was partially right.

But since we're making suggestions I have one for you.

How about responding to legitimate questions with legitimate answers and not trying to invoke Trump in something that has literally nothing to do with him?

This sort of thing always strikes me as pointlessly symbolic.

I don't really see acknowledging past atrocities and making an official stance that laws against homosexuality won't be accepted as pointless
