If you could domesticate one animal, which one would it be?

What wild animal would be nice to have as a domesticated pet? Whether its for protection or hunting or herding; even if you have a disability, but most importantly as a pet to have fun with.

Id love to have raccoons domesticated. They seem to be on that path

Foxes. They can't truly be domesticated at the moment, and the attempts to do so just make them develop dog-like traits and they evolve into basically the average small long haired dog, which is shit.

I just want a fox that wouldn't piss everywhere and smell awful. And be legal, of course.

cows are already domesticated. yeah, they still kill people sometimes, but so do dogs. i also firmly believe my cat would take me out with no remorse if she were the size of any big cat.

i don't think domestication is the problem with having a pet platypus, it's the fact that they're endangered.

fix the endangered part, and you could just sneak one into your home like people do with raccoons and squirrels.

Gawd, I've had the non-pleasure of growing up in an area where raccoons would routinely knock over trashcans and then the squirrels would proceed to chew right through them. I can't think of any reason I would ever want to bring one indoors.

Also, I thought the platypus was off the list. That's kinda sad they are still endangered :\

as long as you give them something to chew, a squirrel's pretty ok.

raccoons on the other hand, they will just tear everything to shit. get in every cabinet, every dresser, chew holes in walls. they're cute as fuck, but i would never keep one.
