Socialism will never work, until Artificial Intelligence is invented that vastly surpasses humans exist. The economy is far to complex, there is way too much variables to take into account, so planned economies are doomed to fail just because they are too inefficient and wasteful. I feel for the people in Venezuela, and I don't blame them for doing what they have to to survive.

depends what you consider a priority. David Attenborough seems to share this thought, that animals need more protection then people, that there are so many people on earth now its spreading into places that impact the wildlife and kill off species directly or indirectly.
Whenever I see news reports of people culling a species of animal because of how it effects the ecosystem of other speices, I just laugh, because nobody would ever suggest culling people for how they effect the ecosystem.

Well, until all these 1st Worlders who value the lives of animals over human beings who just happen to have darker skin put their money where their mouths are and send enough aid to stave off starvation, then starving people are going to do what they have to, and rightly so.

Again with the Socialism. You know the real reason Venezuela failed? It wasn't Socialism, it was the fact that they didn't diversify when they had the chance. They were giving money away like crazy when the oil boom was going on, but as soon as it crashed, guess what? If you only have one source of income and it tanks, you're kind of fucked.

The reason Venezuela is in such trouble is because the leaders didn't think to invest in farms and other forms of income or services for their people, and just stuck to that black gold.

Even someone who knows next to nothing about business like me knows that when you're doing well, you spread out your investments so the risk is less. They didn't do that, and it had nothing to do with Socialism.

Sure thing. I bet it tastes a lot like chicken, so you might want some salt and pepper too.

A lot of those businesses did expand, but not in the domestic US market. LIRP/ZIRP policies in the US have effectively underwritten the financial systems of China and India.

I don't know when the split occurred (birds can and do move between hemispheres), but the group is monophyletic, I believe.

i'm betting the ancestors were all over the area when the split occurred and that's how it happened, then parallel evolution started because they still fit well in their niche.

idk how far flamingos migrate, but they don't seem like the types to have the ability to traverse the ocean for the amount of time needed to fly all that way.

I would, but this crippling inflation that totally has nothing to do with socialist economic policy is dividing us. Look at these sozi's and their mental gymnastics in this thread.

Pretty much, there no ethical or moral way about it. People fuck things up, more people fuck more things up, and other species suffer because of it. So unless nature causes something to wipe out a grand percentage of human beings, like from a virus, gamma ray burst from the sun, an ice age, then more species will simply keep dying from humanities hubris
